The Willows Academy Trust Board of Trustees are the admissions authority for all schools within the Willows Academy Trust.  Admissions to schools within Willows Academy Trust are processed by the Local Authority as part of the Derbyshire Coordinated Admissions Scheme.

Admission arrangements for 2021/2022

The admission arrangements for our schools have not changed for 2021/22.  Further details can be found on each school's website and on the following link: Derbyshire school admission arrangements 2021 to 2022 

  • Applications open on 9 November 2020
  • The deadline application date for primary admissions for the September 2021 intake is 15 January 2021
  • The offer date for the September 2021 intake is 16 April 2021

Admissions Arrangements 2022/23 - Consultation

The directors of Willows Academy Trust are consulting on the admissions arrangements for Dovedale Primary School and Shardlow Primary School in accordance with the statutory requirement set out in the School Admissions Code for schools to consult on their admissions arrangements every 7 years.

 

There are no proposed changes to the current admissions arrangements.  Any changes resulting from this consultation would take effect for admissions in 2022/23. 

 

The Willows Academy Trust Admissions Policy and admissions arrangements for Dovedale Primary School and Shardlow Primary School are available on each school's website and here on the Willows Academy Trust website. Copies are available on request.

 

The consultation will run from 9 November to 21 December 2020.  If you wish to comment on the current admission arrangements please contact the relevant school office or the clerk to the board of directors: ddakin@sawley-inf.derbyshire.sch.uk

 

On conclusion of the consultation, all responses will be considered by the board of directors in their role as the admissions authority for the schools in Willows Academy Trust. 

 

The outcome of the consultation will be notified to all parents/carers and anyone who has submitted comments, and posted on each school's website and the Willows Academy Trust website by the end of February 2021.

 

 

 

Academy admission appeals

Any applicant refused a place at one of our schools has a right of appeal to an independent appeal panel.  Please contact Derbyshire County Council Admissions team in accordance with their published policy in the first instance.

Please note that there have been changes to the appeals process during the Covid-19 pandemic. 

 

20/21

  • If your appeal is for a child transferring to a junior school or starting an infant or primary school and you were told of the decision on 16 April 2020 you should have submitted your appeal within 28 days (by 14 May 2020). 
  • If you are told of an infant, junior or primary decision after 16 April 2020 or it relates to an in-year admission you should submit your appeal within 28 days of being told that your application was unsuccessful. 

 

21/22
